Hi, as you can see, we changed to this new address seabreams to offer a page with more content and better quality. The old site we had: www.geocities.com/submarinoc3 “fallen short” in both space and technology and this is why we moved to this new site.
In this Web Site we want to pay a tribute to the brave submariners who left their life defending the city and inhabitants of Málaga during the Spanish Civil War.
Interesting days in Malaga from 24 to 26 June 2009 with various conferences that promise a lot. The conference will take place in Malaga in the Mediterranean Club, free entry. Well, after almost six years, the Court which investigates what happened in the unfortunate accident has decided. No one has assumed political responsibilities and from the various statements I stay with the minister Chacón:
“The government” completely respects and observes “the sentence, and she added that the real culprits are sitting there” in clear reference to former defense Minister Mr. Trillo.
FranciscoMaceira. -April 29, 2009 .- On December 12, 1936 Republican submarine C-3 was sunk in the waters of the Alboran Sea, four miles from Malaga. Best said it sank a torpedo fired from German submarine U-34, the operation named “Ursula”. A secret operation that benefited both the rebel side to Hitler, who could train his famous “Gray Wolves” to launch torpedoes against the Republican fleet. Although the first launch of the “Poseidon” (code name of the German submarine U-34) destroyers against Republicans had not been satisfactory, the C-3 was not as lucky …..

The commisioner for the Historical Memory of the Goverment of Andalusia, Mr. Francisco Salazar, will coordinate a research to revive the submarine C-3 with crew from Cartagena (murcia, Spain), sunk off the coast of Malaga in 1936 by a German submarine. Its intention is to present a government project to study the feasibility of this rescue operation.

The commisioner for the Historical Memory of Andalusian Goverment, Francisco Salazar, will coordinate a research to revive the submarine C-3, sunk off the coast of Malaga in 1936 by a German ship, and will present a draft to the government to study viability. This was confirmed by the discoverer of the shipwreck, Antonio Checa, who found while fishing in the mid-’90s, when he observed traces of oil on the surface coming from the bottom. Some time later, in 1998, divers from the Navy identified the submersible, which preserves all its equipment and is covered by a multitude of tangled nets and ropes on the deck.

This is one of the most exciting challenges faced by the team from “LA OTRA MIRADA”: to carry into radio waves the fascinating history of Submarine C3.
Took place in Cartagena that the funeral was held this year as the first, in the Chapel of the Submarine Base. Antonio Campillo Ruiz (nephew of Joaquin Ruiz Baeza Cape electricity and torpedoes from the submarine C-3) read a word he had written for the occasion. It was a very emotional event and then held a lunch at the Officer Club of the Base.

The families of the crew claim, 67 years after, from National Court of Justice to arise the C-3 “to give them a decent burial”
MADRID .-Asensio Lidón was in the deck of the submarine throwing the remains of the meal of the day come when guessed the wake of a deadly and whitish Nazi torpedo. The impact opened a hole in the bow and the explosion threw to the water to Asensio with the right elbow shattered. The man viewed floating two companions and sinking the other 37 between the roar of 1,000 tons of Republican steel death wounded way to the sea bed.
On December 12th, 1936 Asensio Lidón hustles on the surface with its 29 years. Today, the only crew member of the C-3 guard who is living with his 86 yeards old in total silence in a nursing home in northern Madrid. Maybe he shares the struggle of the families of those victims, who are going to law sue the MoD before the Audiencia Nacional by refusing to arise the submarine which can give decent burial to their 37 dead , caught a 68 meters deep in the splitted belly the C-3….
62 Spanish militars died in the crash of an aircraft returning from Afghanistan. The corpses were handed over to their relatives poorly identified. Family members and some political groups call for accountability and political point directly to the then Defense Minister Federico Trillo.
On this page we try to show our indignation and impotence at what is happening with the sinking of the Prestige. Although both boats sank in very different circumstances, have in common the gas oil stored in the submarine tanks containing 42 tons of fuel and 50,000 or more tons of fuel in the tanks of the tanker and the fact that after more than sixty years, the submarine is still emitting gas oil spills to the surface….
